If you are interested in a mix of MOBA and MMORPG, you can now check out the Early Access version of the online game The Exiled.
The German developer studio Fairytale Distillery allows you to download the game for free via Steam and play for free for seven days. If you want to continue afterwards, you can purchase one of the packages, with the basic package costing around 20 euros. There are no further costs involved.
“We have been looking for a fair business model for all players of a competitive title like The Exiled. A 7-day trial and then a fixed one-time price feels right. There is no Pay2Win with us,” says Game Director Alexander Zacherl.
MOBA meets MMORPG
The Exiled places you in a remote valley where criminals are banished. This leads to ongoing battles among them. PvP is therefore at the forefront of the online game. However, the battles take place similarly to those in a MOBA. You must assemble a team of like-minded individuals and engage in battles against other groups. Both the skills of your heroes and clever strategies play a role in achieving victory.
In contrast to a MOBA, The Exiled is set in a large open world. It is also important to establish a settlement, or a base, where you can also engage in crafting to provide yourself and your clan members with better equipment such as more powerful weapons or more effective armor.
Battle in the Early Access version
During the closed beta, more than 4,500 players competed against each other in the valley, providing valuable feedback to the developers. Now you can join in and also submit your suggestions. A release date for the “final” version of The Exiled has not yet been set.
