In Pokémon GO brought a surprising event disguise Pokémon like Ditto. This is likely to please many trainers – as the shapeshifter is partially very important.
This is the event: On April 1, Pokémon GO launched the “Tricky Pokémon Event”, which causes various prankster Pokémon to spawn more frequently. These include monsters like Tarnpignon, Mogelbaum, or Voltobal – but also Ditto.
The shapeshifter is basically the mother of all disguise Pokémon. And for some trainers, the increased spawn rate of the gooey monster is quite good news. Because now there is a week to secure a Ditto with good chances – and finally complete old quests.
Finally Ditto for Special Research
This is how it usually looks with Ditto: Dittos are normally hard to catch. Because first, they spawn extremely rarely – and second, they don’t look like Ditto on the map. Instead, you have to catch very specific Pokémon from the Ditto list and hope that one of them ultimately turns out to be Ditto. Currently, trainers are finding the monster quite often.
This is why Ditto is important: In battle, Ditto might not be particularly exciting, even though it can transform into the opposing Pokémon. However, it is interesting for everyone who still has long-standing quests pending.
Because old special research like “A Mysterious Discovery” depends on Ditto. To get the mysterious Pokémon Mew in this quest line, you need to catch a Ditto at stage 5 out of 8.
The same applies to the special research “More about Meltan“, where you must catch that monster. Both quests first appeared in 2018 – but those who had bad luck with Ditto spawns or took longer breaks from playing have been stuck here for a long time.
For all trainers who are still stuck here, the prank event could turn into a real boon. Because Ditto is currently appearing so often that even the “Catch 3 Ditto” task of the current event quests is achievable. And there are even more new field research tasks.
