The design of Diablo 4 is an important topic for many fans. The high level of detail in the enemies invites one to forget about fighting.
A highly discussed topic:
- The look of Diablo is an important topic among fans of the series. Large parts of the community prefer a dark design and are averse to bright colors.
- A gameplay video released shortly before the first beta weekend received a lot of criticism because fans did not like the look.
- Streamers like Asmongold took a different approach and said he didn’t care about the design at all.
- Meanwhile, not only pre-orderers were able to test Diablo 4 and there are more opinions about the art style of the game.
Players praise the design of the enemies: Currently, there is a thread on Reddit that has already collected over 1,400 upvotes in just 18 hours (as of March 26, 3:00 PM) and is receiving a lot of support.
In the thread, a user named “lord-dude” describes his impression of the art design of the game and says he has never felt such a strong urge to look at the details of the enemies.
According to his own statement, he would sometimes just stand still without fighting because he was looking at the different monsters.
[…] In my entire gaming career, I have never felt such a strong urge to look at the details of the enemy models as in this game. I often stand and do not fight, just to see the details of the monsters. Do you know those rewards in games where you can look at the 3D models of the characters? I was never interested in that until Diablo 4.
Great job by the Diablo 4 team. I can’t even say how much you hit my taste with the art style.

MeinMMO readers praise the visuals: Not only on Reddit are there positive words about the design of Diablo 4. Some of you also praised the visuals of the game in our comments.
- Katsuno: “Overall, I would say Diablo 4 has turned out very well. The visuals are good, the gameplay is great (with gamepad) and the rest was also good [in the beta] (via MeinMMO).
- Gothsta: “I can’t imagine Diablo without good graphics (as befitting the age of creation). That is important to me and the open world as well as the […] dungeons exactly meet my taste (via MeinMMO).”
- Luripu: “Of course the game has to be fun as well, but the graphics contribute to that. Diablo 3 never captured me with the comic style, but with Diablo 4 I feel at home again (via MeinMMO).”
However, some of you also mentioned that the visuals of the game were not as important or even secondary if the fun of the game was right. Nevertheless, it is nice to see that Blizzard apparently met the taste of many Diablo fans with the style of the game.
There are even players who are moved to tears because of certain design elements.
