Since the latest update on April 7th, it is now easier to obtain important endgame items in World of Warcraft: sockets. This should especially please players who want to play a twink or switch to a new class.
What kind of grind is this? In the endgame zone “The Maw,” the NPC Ve’nari is located. Players must farm reputation over many weeks to reach the maximum reputation level “Exalted.”
Higher levels are needed for some important items that can be purchased from Ve’nari. Two of them are particularly popular among players who want to get the most out of their character:
- Fragment of the Unbound Reality – Upgrades one of your media for soul binds with the lowest item level to item level 226
- Apparatus for Spatial Realignment – Adds a socket to a helmet, ring, belt, necklace, or bracers
How the grind is now easier: With the new change on April 7th, the reputation with Ve’nari is now account-wide. This means that even fresh level 60 twinks have immediate access to the items while exploring the Maw.
However, they still need to farm the required Stygia. About 7,200 units of Stygia are needed for the apparatus, which can also take quite a while.
Easier grind makes playing twinks easier
Why was the grind so annoying? The reputation with Ve’nari is limited. Each day, the “Eye of the Jailer” watches everything you do in the Maw.
Most activities, such as completing quests or defeating rare enemies, grant reputation with Ve’nari but also attract the Jailer’s attention. The more intensely he observes you, the harder it becomes to survive in the Maw.
The Eye rises to up to five levels, with the fifth level triggering a stackable debuff. This reduces received healing by 10% per stack, and at 10 stacks, you regularly receive shadow damage.
Additionally, starting from level 5, you can no longer earn reputation with Ve’nari. This means that even if you play a lot, you can only farm a limited reputation with the Broker. For twinks, this has always been a significant obstacle.
Twinks are usually played less than the main. They serve as backup characters or are equipped when a player wants to switch classes.
What benefits from the change? Many players enjoy playing secondary characters or want to try out a different class. This has been difficult, especially in the higher tiers of PvE and PvP.
Because the apparatus and the fragment are important for these areas. The media that are enhanced with the fragment are responsible for a large part of the strength of many classes. They enhance various skills through the soul bind in your covenant. The sockets allow for the final bit of power to be extracted from the character with gems.
With the change, it will now be easier to gear up and play a twink, provided the main has already earned the necessary reputation. However, you should hurry if you still want to play Castle Nathria and Season 1.
Because some evidence suggests that there will be a new grind at Ve’nari with an upcoming patch. Whether the new change will help there remains to be seen.
