Slowly but surely, the EM2 assault rifle has risen to the top of the weapon meta in Call of Duty: Warzone. Currently, it is the weapon with the best kills/deaths ratio in the game, and MeinMMO shows you what makes this overachiever so strong.
Not long until the big, free Pacific update of Call of Duty: Warzone. The battle royale will then receive a new map and even new graphics.
Almost 40 new weapons are also coming to the game, and the meta roulette is calling for its stakes. Until then, there is a weapon that the best players of Warzone rely on, which is ideal for the last days in Verdansk: the range assault rifle EM2.
The EM2 doesn’t care about the distance to the opponent
What makes the weapon so strong? If you currently reach for an assault rifle in Warzone and are ready to accept a bit of recoil, then there are 2 strong options:
- AK-47 from Cold War
- EM2
For the very brave, the C58 is also on the list, but the AK and the EM2 are significantly more popular. Both can be controlled well, without making it too easy, and reward with strong damage.
While the AK-47 from Cold War has a higher time-to-kill at chest hits in its range damage area than in close combat, the EM2 remains stable over the entire distance, and it doesn’t matter if your enemy is 5 or 500 meters away:
- TTK with chest hit – close combat
- AK-47 (CW): 600 milliseconds
- EM2: 675 milliseconds
- TTK with chest hits – range
- AK-47: 700 milliseconds
- EM2: 675 milliseconds
While the AK with a meta loadout runs out of steam a bit at around 40 meters, the EM2 remains stable in its time-to-kill.
What can the EM2 not do well? The EM2 neglects close combat due to its range power. If you also like to use your assault rifles for shorter distances, then better rely on the AK-47. Due to the relatively low damage in close combat, an SMG with range is a suitable secondary weapon to the EM2.
Additionally, the fire rate of the EM2 is very low – if you miss, your time-to-kill increases by more than 100 milliseconds. However, the AK-47 also comes with this disadvantage.
Warzone: EM2 Setup rocks the farewell to Verdansk
What does a strong setup look like? A meta setup of the EM2 reduces the noticeable recoil and gives you higher bullet velocity as well as a larger magazine. However, with the high damage per shot, you can rely on the smaller magazine to have fewer disadvantages during your time in the sights.

How strong is the EM2? Currently, the weapon is the most popular assault rifle according to the Warzone statistics site “WZranked” and by far the best weapon in the assault rifle class in terms of kills/deaths ratio – for every death, EM2 players collect 1.43 kills (via wzranked.com – As of November 24, 21).
In second place, the CR-56 AMAX is far behind with a value of 1.10.
The best players are currently rocking the Warzone with the EM2, and for you, this assault rifle could also be a strong tool for the last days of the old map Verdansk.
After the release of Season 6, at the beginning of October, little has changed in the weapon balance in Warzone. The longer popular and strong weapons are not changed, the more pressure the meta gets and over time becomes increasingly unfair.
The EM2 is not too strong in Warzone, but due to its increasing popularity, more and more players are picking up the weapon, which makes the meta rigid and boring.
