The inhabitants of Tamriel in The Elder Scrolls Online are currently celebrating, both Christmas and New Year’s together! The “New Year Festival” offers a special quest and great rewards for every race in ESO.
Every year, MMOs have Christmas events that more or less originallly bring the spirit of the holiday of love and consumption into the respective online world. In The Elder Scrolls Online, Christmas is called “New Year Festival” and also includes New Year’s Eve. But instead of fireworks and champagne, there are cultural peculiarities in Tamriel.
Christmas for the Cats
Before you can dive into the multicultural adventures of the New Year Festival, you first need to travel to Windhelm and visit Breda. She will then assign you the corresponding quests that will lead you to all races of Tamriel. Each one celebrates in its own way and thus offers its own quest. These are:
- Castle Bard Challenge (Bretons)
- Fish Favor Feast (Argonians)
- Lava Foot Stomper (Dunmer)
- Mud Ball Games (Bosmer)
- Signal Fire Sprint (Redguards)
- Snow Bear Jump (Nords)
- Stone Tooth Dash (Orcs)
- Trial of the Five Claws Cunning (Khajiit)
- War Orphan Journey (Altmer)
You can complete each quest of each race, even if you are not a Khajiit or Dunmer. As a reward, you receive crafting materials, cooking ingredients, recipes, and even costumes. For example, a sexy Nord bath towel or a stylish fur hat. Those who complete all quests will receive a special color and an achievement. Those who complete all achievements during the event can then proudly bear the title “The Generous One”. Additionally, the real-money shop offers special items during the time of the New Year Festival. The event runs from December 15 to January 4.
Thanks to the new update One Tamriel, you can actually travel anywhere in Tamriel at any time, regardless of what race or level you have!
