In a new video about “Summerset,” developer Zenimax presents the Psijic Order and its role in the upcoming chapter of The Elder Scrolls Online.
The Psijic Order is one of the factions in the upcoming ESO expansion Summerset. The Order resides on the island of Artaeum, a place that vanished from Tamriel centuries ago and now drifts somewhere else through space. Under an unknown sky, the Psijic monks study a special form of magic that allows them to influence space and time.
Fun Fact: Another group in Tamriel, the Mage’s Guild, was formed centuries ago when members of the Psijic Order split off.
Knowledge of Ancient Secrets
What can the Psijic Order do for me? Players will have the opportunity to join the legendary Psijic Order for the first time in “Summerset” and rise through its ranks. Over the course of the game, you will even learn the Order’s magic: The Psijic Skills. The more you engage with the teachings of the Order, the deeper your insight into the laws of the cosmos will become.
As a member of the Order, you will dedicate yourself to your studies by completing quests for the Order Master. He will send you across Tamriel to close rifts in space. Players will be initiated into the secrets of the Psijic Order throughout the quest and will learn ever stronger Psijic Skills. Fans of the Mage’s Guild can also look forward to information about their history and how it relates to the Psijic Order.
A Dark Vision
The Psijic Order rarely intervenes in events on Tamriel. Therefore, something must be seriously wrong when the Order members do decide to venture to Tamriel. In Summerset, such a catastrophe seems to be looming.
Members of the Psijic Order have foreseen a “dark cloud” in the Dreaming Caver that threatens Summerset. This “dark cloud” refers to the feared Daedra. They seem to have taken up residence on the island of the High Elves, corrupting this flourishing paradise and its inhabitants.
Therefore, the Order is reaching out to the heroes of Tamriel to help them out of this predicament.
