The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online has now also launched in Japan, but there they do not play on their own server.
Due to the mega-server architecture of the MMORPG, Japanese players start their adventures on the US server. Therefore, American players will also encounter Japanese players. However, they do not have to play the MMO in English. The Elder Scrolls Online has been completely translated into Japanese.
Welcome Japan!
The work began about a year ago when the cooperation with the Japanese partner DMM started. Not only were the texts of the game translated, but also the user interface and all spoken dialogues.
The chat is fully available in Japanese, allowing players to converse in their native language. The voice chat also has a Japanese channel. Matt Firor, Director at Zenimax Online, hopes that US players will welcome their Japanese colleagues with open arms. When encountering a player from Japan, you should greet them with a friendly “Konichiwa” or “こんにちは”. You should also not hesitate to invite Japanese players to your group and help them, for example, with getting started in the world.
Matt Firor also personally welcomes all newcomers: “To the players joining us from Japan today: Welcome, we are glad to have you in our growing player community. We hope you settle in and feel at home with us quickly. May your future adventures in Tamriel be exciting, full of new friendships, great experiences, and unforgettable moments.”
Thus, the large community of the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online continues to grow, and even more players can experience the adventures in the fantasy world of Tamriel.
