With the upcoming DLC Dark Brotherhood, the PvP system of the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online will be revamped.
PvP plays an important role in ESO, especially in the province of Cyrodiil around the Imperial City. The battles for the city will now be reworked with the DLC Dark Brotherhood, as the PvP head Brian Wheeler mentioned to the US site mmorpg.com. While captured fortresses in the area will provide EXP bonuses, the system that allows for zones within the city to be captured and held represents a significant innovation.
Capture districts of the Imperial City!
Each district of the city can be captured through a capture-the-flag-like system. Initially, these flags will be only weakly defended, allowing even small groups of players to capture a district. Whoever captures a district will respawn there instead of in the sewers. Additionally, a bonus of 33 percent on Tel Var stones in the city is granted for each captured district. Therefore, anyone who can capture all six districts can secure a Tel Var bonus of 200 percent!
The battles are set to become faster
By weakening the monsters within the city, the intention is to increase the play speed and focus more on PvP battles. Smaller groups of four players will also have better chances. For the future, the developers plan to improve performance and fix exploits more quickly.
Additionally, there are plans to introduce a Dwemer siege engine that exerts magical influences. Later in the year, cities in Cyrodiil that can be captured will be introduced. Additionally, fortresses will be able to be further developed. A rework of the equipment is also planned.
