Tomorrow is the day, then Zenimax Online is introducing the Crown Crates in the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online.
On Thursday, December 1st, the Crown Crates will find their way into the MMO. The principle is based on Loot Crates known from other online games. You buy a Crown Crate in the Crown Store, and it contains some random items. But you won’t know in advance what is included. Basically, the Crown Crates are the surprise eggs of Tamriel.
Be surprised!
In the Crown Crates, you will find consumables that according to Zenimax are always worth more than the price of a single crate. You also get the chance to find unique cosmetic items, companions, or mounts in one of the crates. In the Crown Crates, you will discover not only new and exclusive items but also items that were previously available as limited-time offers and are basically no longer regularly available.
In advance, there was already a heated discussion about the crates, because some fans feared that ESO was moving towards “Free2Play” games, where such lockboxes do not enjoy a good reputation in the cash shop.
If you buy a Crown Crate, you are guaranteed to receive four randomly selected items and the chance for a fifth item. You will not receive duplicate mounts, companions, costumes, or personalities. If an item that you already have is in a crate, it will automatically be exchanged for Crown Gems, a new resource in the game. It is still possible to exchange some items in Crown Crates for Crown Gems. This includes poisons, potions, riding lessons, scrolls of learning, and other items in the “Useful” category.
Constantly new items
If you receive Crown Gems, use them to exchange for collectibles of your choice from the current season Crown Crates. Each season offers you different items in the crates. The crates are reassembled on a quarterly basis. The first season starts with the theme “Stormatronach” and offers you the Stormatronach Bear, the Stormatronach Camel, and the Stormatronach Guar, as well as the Stormatronach Horse, the Stormatronach Senche, and the Stormatronach Wolf. Also included are the Stormatronach Aura, the Stormatronach Transformation, and the Stormstone juggling.
Crown Crates will be available starting December 1st for 400 crowns each in the Crown Store of the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online.
