In the fantasy MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online there is a new DLC coming in the next few months with the Thieves Guild. ZeniMax has officially presented it with a trailer.
Keeping up with The Elder Scrolls Online is quite cumbersome. Unlike other studios that announce something only shortly before it comes out, information about the plans for The Elder Scrolls Online is often known months, even years in advance. The leadership of TESO offers a cornucopia of information at certain events about what is being planned. It is just difficult to stay updated on how much the old information is still valid and when exactly something will come.
For example, in 2014 the weaving spells were presented: Recently it was said “Yes, that is still relevant, but we won’t manage it in 2016.”
The current DLC “The Thieves Guild” was already announced back in July 2015 at QuakeCon, and it is set to arrive in the first quarter of 2016 (by March). Over the past few months, it has become clearer what the Thieves Guild will bring. Soon, it will begin on the test server: the new DLC should be playable there in early February. Then it will probably take until March, and then “The Thieves Guild” will launch on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The actual DLC will again cost money (crowns) and will include:
- the Thieves Guild as a new quest line with its own skill line, costumes, and criminal activities
- the new zone “Hews Fluch” with the city of Ahab’s Landing – this is again a zone for everyone. “Smaller heroes” will be scaled to the maximum level
- new quests and stories
- a fresh trial for 12 players: the Maw of Lorkhaj – this is a kind of raid
The DLC will come with a free patch that will include among other things:
- a 64-bit client, which holds a lot of hope
- an improvement to the LFG tool, which has only been a workaround so far
- the ability, from veteran rank 1 to access other alliances, in any order – this was not known beforehand, as the content was clearly outlined by Cadwell’s Silver
- and hopefully improvements to performance in Cyrodiil.
In the next few weeks, ZeniMax plans to introduce individual aspects in more detail and also reveal the exact release date and price. In the second quarter of 2016, it will become deadly : The Dark Brotherhood will come to TESO. What will come in the second half of 2016 is still unknown.
