In just a few days, the DLC One Tamriel for the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online will be released, opening up the game world for everyone.
This means that all content can be completed regardless of level or faction affiliation. Everything will be scaled to ensure better gameplay flow and give players more freedom. Only in PvP does the player’s level still matter. Zenimax’s Rich Lambert has now commented on these changes.
Level hardly matters anymore
He explains that the biggest challenge was separating the story from the player’s level. In principle, with One Tamriel, any quest can be completed regardless of level, and the same applies to dungeons. Those who want a bit more of a challenge can play any dungeon in veteran mode – which is only possible if they have already reached champion levels. As for scaling, every player will be upgraded to the maximum level.
The LFG tool allows you to find suitable members for your group, where level no longer matters. Additionally, they want to better guide players to dungeons so that they can’t be overlooked as has sometimes been the case in the past. Each dungeon will also have its own item set and you will find the new monster sets in them. Furthermore, the equipment level will be raised when the level cap of the champion system is increased in the future. When it comes to loot, you will always find items that exactly match your level. Items you already have will be automatically adjusted.
Barriers are being removed
With these changes, they aim to cater especially to solo players, allowing them to experience the game as they wish. One can simply jump into the game and have an adventure without the need for grinding. The new system should also be better for groups, as there’s no need to worry about the level of group members. This is particularly evident in Kargstein, an area that previously posed an extreme challenge for solo players. While the area will still be demanding, it will also be doable solo. Overall, One Tamriel aims to remove many barriers of the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online.
The DLC will be released on October 5 for PC players. Those playing on Xbox One or Playstation 4 will have to wait until October 18.
