What is this event about? The Dragon Week started on July 31, 2020, in Pokémon GO. This is part of the hyperbonus that trainers unlocked during the GO Fest 2020. You can expect events for 3 weeks now.
During the Dragon Week, these types will be the focus. The spawns in the wild, the contents of the eggs, raid battles, and a limited research will also be waiting for you.
The good thing is that every player can participate. You did not have to buy a ticket for the GO Fest to take part in the Dragon Week now.
The contents of the Dragon Week in Pokémon GO
When does it start? The kick-off is on July 31 at 10:00 PM German time. Changes, such as the new raid bosses, will only be visible on August 1 when raids take place again.
The event lasts for a week and ends on August 7 at 10:00 PM German time.
New spawns for you: In the wild, the Dragon Week shows its effects. The following Pokémon will appear more frequently:
- Alolan Exeggutor
- Seadra
- Dratini
- Gible
- Swablu
- Druddigon
- Kaumalat
7-km-eggs: The selection in the 7-km-eggs looks similar. You can expect:
- Seadra
- Dratini
- Gible
- Swablu
- Druddigon
- Kaumalat
- Latios
Raids: Presumably, the entire selection of raid bosses will change. What we know for sure is that Rayquaza celebrates its return in the 5-star raids. You can find this dragon Pokémon in legendary raids during the Dragon Week. Rayquaza can even be defeated quite easily by two players.
Timed research: In Pokémon GO, a timed research will be available for the Dragon Week. Complete it to catch two Kaumalat.
Additionally, with a bit of luck, you can even encounter Shiny Kaumalat in all your encounters.
