In The Division, we highlight 5 things that agents hope for from the last “Year 1” expansion. Highly anticipated: Raids!
More and more agents are returning to the post-apocalypse. Update 1.4 is having an effect after reaching the low point of Ubisoft’s MMO shooter with the statement from the developers: “Sorry guys, our game is not fun.”
After months of content drought, The Division is back on track since the end of October. The bugs have been thrown overboard, the shooter has wind in its sails again. The Survival DLC is also well received and is seen as a welcome change. Massive is encouraged to continue in this direction.
The next step will be the last DLC of the “Year 1” plan: “Last Stand”, in German “Letztes Gefecht”. There are numerous ideas online about what this expansion must bring to make The Division even better.
Long awaited: Raids!
Months before the release of The Division, curious fans speculated whether the game would have raids or not. Many even expected: As an MMO shooter, The Division must have raids. Anything else would be a disappointment.
Raids are large-scale PvE endgame activities that focus on teamwork and communication. Players have different tasks. Only together can they solve the mechanics or the puzzle or take down the final boss. Something that also sounds exciting in The Division, but has not yet been realized.
In February, Ubisoft’s Massive Julian Gerighty stated that he would like to see raids in The Division. When incursions were then announced, there was heavy discussion online: “Are these the raids? What are incursions?” Some gaming sites directly referred to them as “raids”, the hype was huge, but quickly came the dampener: They are PvE content for a maximum of four agents, without major mechanics.
Will there be a raid with “Last Stand”?
After it was clarified that incursions are not raids, there was still a hint of raids in the “Year 1” plan: In the expansion “Last Stand”. So far, not much is known about the DLC: It is set to be released in spring 2017 and introduce a new threat, an “relentless enemy”. It is mentioned that you will need to recruit other agents to deal with the threat.
This could mean that this is a new incursion for just four agents – however, there is also room for hope that it might actually be a raid.
After the survival mode, a raid would definitely be the next step to enhance The Division further – and to attract more agents back. Therefore, this is at the top of the wishlist for “Last Stand”.
More ideas for “Last Stand”
A raid alone would probably be enough for many to get back into The Division intensively. However, there are numerous further suggestions, ideas, and demands online that agents expect from “Last Stand”.
- Expand Survival: The survival mode is a fun and challenging activity. However, agents do not play it to quickly get loot. There are much more efficient farming methods. Thus, this mode should be expanded in the future. A hardcore version, more loot, a stronger focus on Battle Royale. Massive can do even more with Survival.
- More Hunters: Some users state that fighting the Hunters is the most intense experience in The Division. So why not have more of them? Currently, you can only encounter these enemies in Survival.
- New PvP activities: Those who want to play PvP have to go into the Dark Zone. Or select the PvP mode from Survival. However, there is still no pure PvP area. In the summer, Hamish Bode stated that the idea of PvP arenas is interesting. However, there is no sign of that yet.
- More factions, more story, more space: The last wish we present can be summarized as: “More of everything”. Especially new story missions have been demanded for months. A map expansion is also high on the wishlist. In spring 2016, there were leaks that showed areas in Central Park. While a new faction has already come with the Hunters – but you can never have enough enemy diversity.
However: There has been no new information from Massive about “Letztes Gefecht” so far.
What do you wish for from the last DLC still included in the season pass? Last Stand will be released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC simultaneously.
So far, The Division has hardly benefited from the DLCs. Interest has not increased.
