With The Division, Update 1.4 is live. Agents are flooding back into the post-apocalyptic New York.
On 25th October at just before 12:30, Massive reported: The servers are back online! This marked the start of “The Division 1.4”, for an MMO shooter that wants to leave its buggy and error-ridden past behind and start fresh again.
When you start The Division now, nothing extraordinary happens at first. You can click on the patch notes in the login screen and comfortably read the Patch notes for 1.4 in-game.
Selecting World Tiers – Here’s How
Once you enter the post-apocalypse, you will be greeted by a banner that shows you how the World Tiers work. They become available at character level 30. To set a rank, go to the map and hold Triangle (on PS4). Rank 1 is available immediately, Rank 2 from Score 158, Rank 3 from Score 177, and Rank 4 from Gear Score 199.
You can also switch these at will without a loading screen. For example, if you’re standing in front of a vendor and you are in World Tier 3, their items have a gear score of 204. If you switch to Rank 4, they have a value of 229. This changes immediately, without loading.
The Death Fairy Set and Other Updates
The B.L.I.N.D. set is no more. It was replaced weeks ago on the PTS by the Banshee set, a pure PvP set. The German name is now also known: Death Fairy.
Every vendor now brings relevant items as well. The Credit vendors also have a high-end item with maximum gear score in their inventory alongside superior items. Additionally, they sell sealed containers that can also contain items with the highest score.
However, you also receive much more relevant loot as drops from enemies. This overall leads to you having a greater selection than ever before to create various builds. You can no longer complain about a lack of items at the maximum gear score.
Furthermore, you are now more powerful against the enemies you encounter out there. We just made a short detour into the Dark Zone and were able to take down a group of cleaners solo without any problem! Before 1.4, we would have gotten burned by them.
First Issues After 1.4
First of all: There are no reports of server issues this time. No error codes appear that would diminish the gaming experience. However, a few minor issues are mentioned on reddit:
- On the PS4, some mods are reportedly not re-rolled, but have completely disappeared.
- There are also complaints about frame rate drops. The game is said to feel sluggish, and some animations (such as when opening the stash) are reported to lag. In some situations, the game is still not running smoothly. These reports also relate to the PS4 version.
When will you start in The Division 1.4?
