In The Division, Update 1.6 and Last Stand are coming. We summarize the key innovations.
On February 28, 2017, Update 1.6 and Last Stand will be released. Both content deliveries will be released simultaneously on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. While Last Stand is paid and included in the Season Pass, all agents will receive Update 1.6 at no additional cost.
Last Stand includes two major innovations:
- The PvP mode “Last Stand”
- The “Lost Signal” incursion, which is called “Gestohlenes Signal” in German

What changes with 1.6 in The Division?
All further innovations are included in Update 1.6. This update, by the way, does not introduce a new World Tier and does not increase the Gear Score. This means that your previous items remain relevant.
Innovations in the Dark Zone
The first thing you will notice when starting 1.6 is probably the Dark Zone expansion. It receives three new areas to the north, offering nearly 100% of the play area currently occupied by the DZ. These DZ areas are meant to be darker and more dangerous than the areas in the south.
More DZ Innovations:
- Contamination Events: Occasionally, contamination events will start in the DZ, where you need to eliminate Cleaners in heavily contaminated zones.
- DZ Leaderboards: Your activities will be tracked and recorded in leaderboards. The better you are, the better rewards you will receive.

Legendary Difficulty
The legendary difficulty will be active in the story missions Times Square, WarrenGate Power Plant, and Napalm Production Site, and aims to provide a significant PvE challenge for hardcore players.
The enemies not only have more health but also come with new behavior patterns and skills. “Legendary” is intended for well-organized teams. Unique rewards will be available for this. Read more about legendary difficulty here.
Exotic Items and Gear Innovations
A long-requested innovation that comes with 1.6: The named high-end weapons will finally become unique – they will be “exotic”. Each “named weapon” will receive a special talent, that cannot be recalibrated or transferred with AlphaBridge.
By the way: The named armor pieces will also be exotic.
Important changes to gear sets affect AlphaBridge (only the third talent will be transferred), Recovery (focuses on the support role), and Tactician’s Authority (the buff only disappears after using a skill). The announced SEEKR set will not be released.
For weapons, submachine guns will regain the critical hit chance bonus.
Changes to Armor and Skill Power
In short: Armor loses its significance as it can no longer provide bonuses on armor pieces. You will need to focus more on skill power if your skills are to remain effective.
However, there are still some additional changes to your armor pieces that are also retroactive. You can find the information in the provided link.
Microtransactions
Update 1.6 introduces microtransactions in the form of an in-game store and “premium credits”. Here, you can only purchase cosmetic items like emotes, weapon skins, or clothing.
Massive announced that The Division will be supported with further updates after the release of Update 1.6.
