In The Division, weapon balance changes will come with Update 1.3. However, these will not affect all of your weapons.
The community manager Hamish Bode has announced in the Ubi forum a message that he believes agents should know early: With update 1.3, you will likely need many new weapons.
Existing weapons will not receive all balance changes
Bode writes that with Update 1.3, certain changes will come that will affect existing weapons you own. However, there will also be changes that will only appear on weapons that drop after the update. More precise information will follow on Thursday. But Bode believes it is right for agents to know about this now. It could be useful to save crafting materials and not invest them in new weapons before the update.
With the upcoming weapon balancing, all weapon types will be provided with specific bonuses. You can read about the weapon balance changes of Update 1.3 in The Division here.
So it is quite possible that we can throw away some of our weapons after the underground update if we want to benefit from the new bonuses. We will know more on Thursday.
