In The Division, it will take weeks until Update 1.8 is released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Yesterday, the State of the Game aired on November 16, 2017. The developers talked about upcoming “Events” in The Division, including the release of Update 1.8.
A specific release date is still missing. However, today the release window of “early December” was mentioned. Since major updates are always deployed on Tuesdays, one might consider December 5 as a possibility.
This means: It will take at least nearly three weeks until you can play the new content of Update 1.8.
Since the PTS for 1.8 closed at the end of October, most agents assumed that the update would appear 2 to 3 weeks later. The fact that it is now waiting over a month (calculated from the end of October) comes as a surprise. Several users expressed their frustration in the Twitch chat.
According to Massive’s community developer Yannick Banchereau, it takes a while to apply the finishing touches to such a large update. Every time a bug is fixed, it must be double-checked to ensure that nothing else is broken elsewhere. A lot needs to be done.
Upcoming weekends have events
This weekend, there will be a double rewards event. The HVTs will drop double rewards. These are the high-value targets you can hunt in the open world.

When asked why Massive is not repeating the previous global events to bridge the time until Update 1.8, Banchereau replied that they would not do this. The events will be repeated in the future, but only when more global events are in the “rotation.” So definitely not before 1.8.
Global Event 3 will start shortly after the launch of 1.8. It is definitely set to begin in December.
