In The Division, the release of update 1.5 is imminent. However, there is still criticism.
While the Survival DLC will be released on PC and Xbox One about a month earlier than on PS4, update 1.5 will be released simultaneously for all platforms. The release is expected on November 22.
This update will introduce world rank 5, increase the gear score to 256, add named gear pieces and new weapons to the game, and adjustments will be made to the balance. Additionally, a new gear set will be introduced: FrontLine.
Update 1.5 Sparks Criticism
Criticism of The Division is nothing new for Massive. Since the release, serious problems have repeatedly arisen that agents have complained about, and which developers had to chase after. The October update 1.4 managed to eliminate most of these annoyances, but 1.5 could reopen old wounds.
In the reddit forum, one can find a colorful selection of threads where players vent their frustrations. The strength of enemies, the opposing armor damage in PvP, the new gear score, or the lack of new content are particularly often criticized. Parts of the community even see 1.5 as a step backward.
A user receives great support with the statement that Massive must treat PvP and PvE separately. If they want to change PvP, such as by introducing opposing armor damage, PvE must not suffer as a result.
Survey on 1.5
Massive made changes to 1.5 last Friday, based on player feedback and the data collected during the PTS phase. Until the official release of 1.5, the developers can still make adjustments. However, they ask for your help.
A survey is now online, in which you should specify your experiences with update 1.5 as precisely as possible. Questions about world rank 5, loot, opposing armor damage, FrontLine gear set, or new weapons will be asked. If you were on the PTS, you can participate and help improve the game.
Just last week, the developers justified the decision to raise the world rank and maximum gear score shortly after update 1.4. For many agents, this comes too soon. However, Massive stated that they have been able to reach the maximum score since June, since “Underground”. Therefore, it is now time for the next step. They understand that for some agents, 1.4 feels like a new beginning.
