The Game Director Petter Mannerfelt has answered some questions about the upcoming May update. He talks about “High Value Targets”, “Sealed Caches”, and the new incursion “Clear Sky”.
Track down and eliminate “High Value Targets” in The Division
High Value Targets are dangerous faction leaders. They pose a threat to society and must therefore be stopped by you. First, however, you need to locate them. Complete Search and Destroy missions to gather enough information on the whereabouts of the targets.
You will receive the “Search and Destroy Missions” in the safehouses of the open world as soon as you have completed all side missions and fights in the respective area.
According to Mannerfelt, there will be daily and weekly High Value Targets. There will be an “HVT Officer” in the Operations Base who will provide you with a list of targets. You can see their level, the recommended gear score, the rewards, and the required target information. You need to collect the latter to start the missions.
Once you begin an HVT mission, you must eliminate the target within a certain time frame. With “High-Risk Targets“, you only have one attempt to successfully complete the mission.
Some targets are meant to be taken down only with a strike team.
What do “Sealed Caches” contain?
The Conflict update introduces “Sealed Caches”, which are sealed containers. These can be dropped in the Dark Zone by named enemies and must be extracted as they are contaminated.
The Sealed Caches contain “mystery items“: These include gear, Division Tech, and Dark Zone currency.
Information on the new incursion “Clear Sky”
In “Clear Sky”, the Rikers have taken control of an abandoned air defense facility from the LMB and now dominate the entire airspace over Manhattan. This also means they can seize all supply shipments. This cannot be allowed by the Division agents.
This incursion is also designed for four agents, but according to the game director, one to three players can also engage in this activity. The enemies will be scaled.
On “Hard”, every time you complete Clear Sky, you receive a high-end item with a gear score of 204 and set parts with a value of 214. Upon completing it for the first time each week, you receive double the rewards. The same applies in “Challenge Mode”: only the set parts have a value of 240.
After the first encounter with enemies, there will be a checkpoint.
