At The Division, you can find information about the upcoming Underground expansion. This will provide the largest Incursion so far.
Apart from the elaborately staged press conferences at E3 2016, some new features that the Underground expansion will bring to The Division were presented on the Ubi blog.
The first paid update 1.3 will be released on June 28 exclusively for Xbox One and PC. The new content will also be accessible for PS agents starting August 2.
Content of “Underground” in The Division
The 1.3 expansion will bring numerous items as well as new features:
- A big thing will be the “Underground” mode: This takes Division agents underground into randomly generated tunnel systems, sewers, and subway stations. It was already known during the E3 livestream by Microsoft that no battle in the Underground will be the same. Apparently, not only the enemies will provide variety but also the layout of the environment.
- Additionally, a new Incursion called “Dragon’s Nest” is coming: This will be “larger” than the previous two Incursions and will be set in the area of “Hell’s Kitchen”. In “Dragon’s Nest”, you will have to face the faction of the flame-throwing Cleaners. They continue to try to burn the virus out of the city in a reckless and dangerous manner. You must stop them.
- Furthermore, the Ubi blog states: “Now” the missions Hudson Yard and Queen’s Tunnel are also available as Challenge Mode Missions across all platforms.
- Moreover, the Incursions “Falcon Lost” and “Clear Sky” as well as all missions with a Challenge Mode will receive a new difficulty level: “Heroic” – that is Heroic. This is likely to raise the challenge from Challenging even further. More details on this are not yet known.
It is also unclear when the last two announcements will come into effect. The blog mentions “now”. At the current time, when this article was written, the new difficulty level is still not live.
An event by Ubisoft is scheduled for June 15 at 5 AM, which will reveal more information about “Underground”.
