In The Division, with update 1.3, it will be possible to change weapon talents.
The talents of a weapon usually determine whether one will use it to hunt enemies or dismantle it for parts. They provide your firearms with special benefits, with some being worth their weight in gold, while others can easily be skipped.
To help agents get to their coveted weapons faster, Massive is introducing a new feature with the Underground update: From now on, agents can “re-roll” weapons and equip them with new talents.
How to change weapon talents in The Division
To recalibrate the weapon, another currency is required, known as “Weapon Set.” Weapon Sets can be obtained in three ways:
- Through loot
- Through chests in the Underground
- Through crafting
At the “Recalibration Workbench,” you will finally invest Weapon Sets along with Phoenix Credits to re-roll the talents on the weapon. Overall, the fun should work similarly to changing the stats of equipment items.
All talents can be changed. However, how the term “all” should be understood remains to be seen. So far, it is known that the new “fixed” talents, which always appear on certain weapon types, can be modified.
Whether one can indeed exchange all talents per weapon or just one per weapon will be revealed in the future. If it works “just like changing the stats on equipment items,” then you will only be able to re-calibrate one talent per weapon.
Additionally, there is currently no information on how this new feature will work with named weapons. These always have fixed talents. Will they also be changeable?
By next Monday, June 27th, we will learn more about it. Then Massive will hold the now third “Special Report” for an update. The patch notes are also expected at the beginning of next week.
Update 1.3 will be deployed on Tuesday during maintenance. It will be available to PC and Xbox agents around noon. However, the patch for PS4 must be postponed to a later date. Consequently, on all platforms, the “Ubi30 Outfits” will only be available later. Further details are pending.
