Matthew Higby is now working for Ubisoft Massive. He brings plenty of MMO shooter experience. Maybe for The Division?
Planetside 2 is considered by some to be the only true “MMO shooter.” There, hundreds, even thousands of players can participate in battles simultaneously, firing at each other and blasting away.
One of the key figures of Planetside 2 was Matthew Higby, who served as Creative Director for the overall vision of the game for over four years.
In the wake of restructuring at Sony Online Entertainment, Higby left his employer and also Planetside 2 by his own request in February 2015. After just over a year, Higby has found a new job: he will be Game Director at Ubisoft Massive in Malmö. He announced this on Twitter.

Whether he is working on The Division or doing something else is not known. Given his resume, he would undoubtedly be a good fit for the job at The Division. The “last” Game Director of The Division left Massive in March to work on Hitman. Higby would be a natural replacement, bringing a wealth of experience in shooters and MMOs.
