In The Division, we introduce a build with over 1 million DPS. But can it be useful in practice?
One million DPS – that is a “damage per second” value that most agents have not come close to. If you have around 300,000 or 400,000 DPS in The Division 1.6, you are already doing well. However, the one million is indeed not an unreachable milestone: In the past, glitches have significantly exceeded the million, and even without exploits and cheats, you could get close.
On the PTS for Update 1.6, the Valkyria weapon set pushed it to the extreme: With it, over 14 million DPS was possible! Such outrageous DPS numbers are no longer achievable.
“Upper Echelon Gamers” presents their build, which boasts over 1 million DPS. How you can achieve this value without cheats and exploits is explained in the video:
How to get over 1 million DPS
If you want to boost your DPS value, two values are particularly important: Firearms and Reload Speed. When it comes to armor, look for items with high firearms values, pay attention to reload speed bonuses, and specifically increase the firearms with the mods. You should aim for a total of 9200 firearms. For gloves, take Skulls MC Gloves that have a bonus to precision rifle damage.
However, the most important thing is the weapon: Take the precision rifle SCAR-H Military Version with the talents Precise, Experienced, and Agile. Especially Agile boosts the DPS value since it makes reloading 25% faster. For weapon mods, focus fully on Reload Speed and Headshot Damage.
This is how you consistently achieve over 1 million DPS. It is therefore not hard to do. Focus on firearms, reload speed, and headshot damage. But does this high value actually matter in practice?
1 Million DPS – Only a “cosmetic build”
Short answer: No. This build is essentially only suitable for showing off to your buddies: “Look how high my DPS value is!”
In practice, however, it is not possible to benefit from the 1 million DPS. The weapon is difficult to control, the crosshair is wide open after every shot, and the stability is poor. Dealing one million damage in one second is simply impossible. Even if the target is only a few meters away and does not move.
Therefore, the recommendation: Do not focus too much on the DPS number. Make sure that you can also control the weapon and apply damage to the target. With this build, you can still get a kill or two, but the high DPS value distorts the practical use of the weapon.
You can find a strong DPS build for PvP here. This one comes with a DPS value of 350,000.
