In The Division, we ask the question: When will the next DLC be released? We summarize the known information.
Since the end of June, the “Underground” expansion and Update 1.3 have been released. A week ago, PS4 agents received the Underground content. In the meantime, however, every corner of the Underground has been discovered, every gear set analyzed, and the Dragon’s Lair has been extensively cleaned out by the Cleaners.
The thirst for new content is great. Ideally, new content will arrive soon that is free of numerous bugs, can convince the agents again, and draws them back into the post-apocalypse. Because all signs indicate: Interest in The Division is waning in Germany.
Survival – Survive – The Next Big Thing
Next up is the “Survival” expansion, along with Update 1.4. But one must slowly ask the question: When will the new content be released?
According to the “Year-One-Content” plan, the Survival DLC is scheduled for this summer. The problem is: This summer is already coming to an end. On September 1st, meteorological autumn begins – and there is still no sign of Survival.
On top of that, Massive is currently running on low power. Many of the developers are currently out of the country, it was mentioned in the last State of the Game two weeks ago. Therefore, there will be no regular situation reports for three weeks. The Division will also not be represented at Gamescom. So when will the information about Survival and Update 1.4 come? They certainly want to talk extensively about it before the new content is released.
The last information about the Survival expansion came two months ago. A huge trailer was released at E3. Back then, it was stated “Coming soon”, with the note that the DLC would come sooner than expected.
Since then, further information has been scarce. And it seems that no news is to be expected in the near future. But possibly The Division will pick up speed again starting next week.
Because the community developer Hamish Bode wrote a few hours ago via Twitter that it will only take another week until he resumes his work and holds streams. He can hardly wait to show the fans “more cool stuff”.
Since new expansions for The Division are only applied on Tuesdays, the developers have four dates left this summer for Survival and Update 1.4:
- August 9: That is already tomorrow. This date can probably be crossed off.
- August 16: Since Massive wants to really get going again next week, this date will also be too early.
- August 23: This date is possible. However, the developers will only have a few days to present the entire expansion. In the past, they liked to take their time with that.
- August 30: The date we believe is the most likely. If Massive gets back in a week, they will have a good two weeks to prepare the community for this patch and set everything in motion. However, you can’t really speak of “coming sooner than expected.”
What’s in Survival?
The Survival DLC is supposed to completely change the gaming experience. New York has changed, the climate conditions have worsened. A blizzard is raging and has taken most things with it.
You are among the few survivors. Now it is important to stay alive and withstand hostile survivors. Because they have set their sights on you.
The Division seems to be evolving into a survival game. During the presentation of the “Year-One-Content”, it was said: It is necessary to gather supplies and craft high-tech materials. Or will you succumb to temptation and become a rogue?
By the way: This expansion will also only be released a month later on the PS4. The last major expansion of this year, “Last Stand”, will be released on all platforms at the same time.
