In The Division, we present six tips on how to easily master the toughest PvE activities in Heroic mode.
Currently, The Division can be quite challenging but also demotivating. Because some enemies can take you down with just one shot despite high toughness values and require three or four full magazines to go down.
However, YouTuber Skill Up states: No, the game is not difficult; it is just anything but balanced. With the right attributes, skills, weapons, and gear sets, The Division becomes “very, very easy.” However, if you do not have these, the MMO shooter is pure torture in the most brutal PvE activities.
Therefore, Skill Up presents six tips that may surprise some, but are “excellent” in practice. They help you stay alive and successfully complete the PvE content. Whether you have the most fun this way is another matter.
These tips are intended solely for use in a group. Missions in Heroic mode are not really recommended for lone wolves.
Tip 1: Ignore the “Firearms” Attribute
A tactic that many agents like to use is: Attack with as much firepower as possible. They increase the firearms attribute to deal more damage and raise the DPS values. However, this attribute is not important in PvE at all.
Because you receive increased damage from numerous other sources, such as critical hit damage, critical hit chance, headshot damage, damage against elites, armor damage, weapon talents, gear set bonuses (keyword: Vigilance or Striker), skills like Booster or Reinforcement. Given these many possibilities, the firearms value is comparatively insignificant. Therefore, focus on the other attributes.
Tip 2: Toughness around 400k is More Than Enough
In PvE, no toughness values beyond 700k are necessary, as shotgun enemies can still take you down with two shots. Skill Up recommends values around 400k. With that, you can withstand the enemies sufficiently to stagger them with shotguns, for example, and then finish them off. High toughness values are important, but you don’t have to overdo it.
Tip 3: Electronics is “King”
If you moderately improve the other attributes, you have the opportunity to focus more on electronics. Skill Power around 45k is recommended. Because: While you can only increase your own damage with firearms, you can support the whole team much more with high skill power.
Skill Up mentions the following numbers: If you increase firearms by 1500, you gain about 20% more DPS. If you apply this advantage to the entire team, in theory, everyone benefits by 5%. However, if you increase skill power and use Reinforcement, each agent receives 50% more damage output. You also gain the additional benefits of Reinforcement, such as increased resistance. The entire squad benefits significantly more from high skill power.
Important skills for this build are Reinforcement and Booster or Medical Station.
Tip 4: Support Your (Matchmaking) Team
Skill Up reveals that he currently spends more time in randomly assembled teams than in friends’ teams. But this is precisely an advantage of this build: This allows you to improve the entire team, whether it came to you via matchmaking or consists of friends. And you are less dependent on the randoms: Because you bring everything to the table to advance the team and lead them to victory.
Tip 5: Stagger Enemies in PvE
With shotguns, you can inflict the “stagger” effect on enemies. This causes them to stagger, temporarily incapacitating them. Therefore, choose strong shotguns like the SASG-12 in PvE. Additionally, explosive rounds are useful for stopping incoming enemies. One shotgun enemy can be enough to wipe out the entire team. So stagger him!
For the gear set, the Restorer Set is recommended, which supplies the entire team with special ammo and consumables.
Tip 6: DPS Means Nothing
The final tip summarizes the previous ones: Do not focus on high DPS values but on staying alive. Improve your whole team with your skill power and powerful skills. Because these enhance the “bare numbers” more than anything else.
