Today, on October 25th, maintenance is taking place in The Division – because Update 1.4 is coming!
Update 10:20 AM: The update is now available for download. On PS4, it is indicated with version 1.08. The patch size is around 4.6 GB.
The long wait comes to an end today. The Division is making its comeback. Today marks the beginning of the future of the shared-world shooter. But first, the servers are down. Here is the information about the downtime:
At 9:30 AM our time, the servers will be shut down. They will remain offline for 3 hours, so that the new gaming experience can start at 12:30 PM.
Can you really start exactly at 12:30 PM? Apparently yes, because there will be a preload for the patch. According to Hamish Bode, this will start at 10 AM. The specific patch size is not yet known. The last info was that the patch is supposed to be around 6 GB.
The update 1.4 is available for download today
What is changing today? A lot! It has been exactly 2 months, since August 25th, since there has been a changelog for The Division. There have been no changes or bug fixes. Only the PTS has been worked on week after week.
But that is changing now. Yesterday we presented the patch notes for update 1.4, which are substantial. If you have a few minutes, you can skim through them in the provided link.
Otherwise, we will embed the most important new features here:
- World Tiers: In the endgame, you can select world tiers, which determine the level of enemies and the score of your loot. All information about the world tiers can be read here.
- Weapon Tuning: The weapon balance will be adjusted.
- Gear Set Tuning: Almost all gear sets will be revised.
- Loot System: The loot system will be overhauled. All gear sets will be available for everyone!

- The respawn of named enemies: The open world will be upgraded. You can eliminate named enemies, like Bullet King, every 4 hours to have a high chance of good loot.
- HVTs: High-value targets and high-risk targets will be lucrative.
- Time to Kill and Time to be Killed: Your agents will become more powerful: They deal more damage to enemies and can take more damage themselves.
- Solo Experience: Activities will scale in difficulty depending on the size of the squad. For example, the challenge mode should also be achievable solo.
- Banshee: The B.L.I.N.D. set will be replaced by Banshee. This is a purely PvP set.
- Gear Buyback and Lock: You can repurchase items that you accidentally sold. Or completely lock them for sale.

- Field Proficiency: This term refers to the feature that keeps experience important even in the endgame. With XP, you fill a bar: When it is full, you receive a sealed container.
- 229 Blueprints: Depending on your world tier, you will also obtain blueprints with the maximum gear score. This will also enhance crafting.
- “Quality of Life” fixes: Additionally, there will be numerous other improvements that should make life in the post-apocalypse more pleasant. For instance, with 1.4 you can run into the terminal at “the stairs”!
All these changes will be available as a free update for all agents on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
