In The Division, the PTS phase for update 1.6.1 is coming to an end. Nothing stands in the way of the release now.
Today, on May 10th, at 12 o’clock our time it is over! The public test servers, the PTS, will be shut down. The testing phase for update 1.6.1 will then be over, and Massive can begin to prepare everything to finalize the patch and release it in a timely manner.
There is still no concrete release date. Massive has repeatedly emphasized in recent weeks that they expect to meet the planned May release. We assume that more detailed information will be announced tomorrow during the “State of the Game”.
When can we expect update 1.6.1 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC?
In the history of the shared-world shooter The Division, there have been two PTS phases so far:
- The first test servers were launched for Update 1.4 in autumn 2016. They ended on October 18th, and just a week later the update went live on all platforms.
- The second PTS took place for update 1.6. This ended on February 10th. It took about two weeks for the update to appear in the live game.
Therefore, for update 1.6.1, we now assume that it will also take 1-2 weeks before it appears on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Updates are always released on Tuesdays, which is why these dates are possible:
- May 16 – This date may come too soon. After all, the patch must first undergo the certification process of Sony and Microsoft.
- May 23 – This date is likely to be it.
- May 30 – The latest date if Massive wants to meet “May”.
What does update 1.6.1 bring?
Update 1.6.1 is primarily a “Quality of Life” update, meaning that Massive will fix numerous bugs and tweak the balance a bit to make agents’ lives more enjoyable. For example, the Agile Talent and the seeker mine will be revised.
The biggest new feature is the Loadouts feature, which has been long requested by agents. This allows you to save your builds and quickly switch between them.
Additionally: The worst exotic will be removed and the inventory will be expanded!
