In The Division, maintenance work will be carried out today, on September 22nd. The servers will go offline. Additionally, the PTS for Update 1.8 has started.
As Massive has just announced, “emergency maintenance work” will occur today for The Division. This means the servers are down for the third time this week. On Tuesday, Update 1.16 was released, regular maintenance was conducted on Thursday, and today there is an emergency maintenance.
- The work will begin at 4 PM our time. The servers will go offline. The estimated downtime is one hour, so you can play again around 5 PM.
Massive is quite vague regarding the “emergency.” They state: Some bugs will be fixed that caused multiple issues with loadouts.
After the maintenance, these issues should be resolved.
PTS for 1.8 are live – What are the patch notes?
Some new features of Update 1.8 can now be tested on the PTS, the public test servers. As Massive announces, they have been live since 3 PM.
However, currently only PC agents can access the PTS. Console players on PS4 and Xbox One need to wait a few more days. Massive is aiming for September 26th as the launch date for the console PTS, but this date is likely to be postponed. They will inform us in time.
As of now, while this article is being written, there are no patch notes online for PTS Phase 1 of Update 1.8. We will embed them here as soon as they are available.
In the PTS, you can visit the West Side Pier (the new PvE area) and Camp Clinton (the new social hub), play the new PvP mode “Skirmish”, test the new Exotics and six new secret Gear Sets, and try out the gear enhancement. However, not all features are live yet. The new Underground is still missing, for example.
