In The Division, there are numerous new updates regarding the preliminary Patch 1.4, which is currently being tested on the public test servers.
The State of the Game of this week just concluded. The developers announced the second week of the PTS, which will change the build on the servers with an extensive update. In other words, many of the numbers and information mentioned in the patch notes are already invalid. You can find the new patch notes here.
Additionally, your character data will now be wiped on the PTS. Once the servers are available again (today around 1:30 PM), you can run around the PTS with your character from the main game – as long as he is level 30. Otherwise, you can create an endgame character.
Thus, week two of the PTS is approaching. The following changes have been made based on tester feedback. A major change: A completely new gear set is coming!
This is the Banshee set
The new set is called Banshee and replaces the B.L.I.N.D. set. The latter could simply not be made interesting and balanced. Thus, it is now gone.
The Banshee set is a pure PvP set, which comes with an exciting, variable talent:
- 2-set bonus: +20% more Dark Zone currency will be gained
- 3-set bonus: +10% more damage to enemies out of cover
- 4-set bonus: There are two talent variants:
If you are rogue: Your ammunition is completely replenished every 30 seconds. Additionally, you receive 10% less damage from non-rogues.
If you are not rogue: Damage to rogues is increased by 10%. Additionally, movement speed is increased by 20% on the PTS, but this bonus will be removed and replaced by another.
All your B.L.I.N.D. items will be replaced by Banshee items.
Other new features coming in the PTS update
- The damage of your grenades depends on the world tier. Previously, it was only designed for Tier 1. Now it increases as you advance to a higher tier.
- NPC shotgunners will be nerfed. The shotgun types now have reduced range and precision. However, they remain deadly at close range.
- Underground checkpoints will be removed again. A different solution is being sought.
- There are no “health fields” anymore, only a health bar. This will provide a smoother display of your health status.
- Armor resistance will be increased from 60% to 70%.
- There will be further changes to the gear set bonuses. Actual numbers will be adjusted. The increased damage from the “Lonely Hero” set will now be calculated proportionally and not with a fixed damage buff – as it otherwise would not match the world tiers.
- The SPS formula will be revised.
- Now six new talents are available for weapon recalibration, not just three.

- Hip fire is changing, it will feel different than before.
- With individual skills, a “team cooldown” is being introduced. If a member of a squad uses one of these skills, the entire team will not be able to activate it for a while – but they can use another. For example, you can no longer quickly use the survival link one after the other.
- In World Tier 1, you will not yet receive any gear set pieces. You can only obtain high-ends here. Gear sets starting from Tier 2.
- In the Dark Zone, there is slightly less loot than before on the PTS. Additionally, traders now sell sealed containers.
- Named weapons will be able to reach a maximum gear score of 229 in the future. However, this change is not coming now.
- Numerous further changes to skills and talents.
