In The Division, the Xbox One will receive fresh content 30 days before Sony’s console. This is revealed in a video from Gamestop.
New content for Ubisoft’s upcoming MMO shooter will be available first on Xbox One as a time-exclusive. Only 30 days later will PlayStation users be able to enjoy fresh content. This is reported in a new video by the retailer Gamestop, which is meant to promote The Division.
Time-exclusive content for Xbox is not particularly surprising, as Xbox gamers have already enjoyed an exclusive Closed Alpha and were able to spend one more day in the Closed Beta. The Open Beta also starts a day early for Xbox players. PC and PlayStation gamers have thus some disadvantages.
Time Exclusivity for Xbox One
The video states at 1:44 that new content will be released for Xbox 30 days before it arrives on PlayStation. There will also be a bundle for Microsoft’s console. However, no word has been said about the PC version. Since the PC has always been treated like the PS4 (the testing phases start on both platforms simultaneously), it can be assumed that Xbox claims the sole time exclusivity.
The Ubisoft forum already has corresponding reactions to this news. One user comments that it borders on madness how Microsoft tries to promote their console. But at least there is good news for the PS4: By the time content for Sony’s console arrives, most bugs will have been fixed.
Otherwise, the promotional video praises The Division to the skies. Everyone states they can hardly wait for the launch, praising the gameplay and the minimal loading times. Residents of New York have already had the chance to test the game and see the post-apocalyptic virtual New York. The result: “I love it.”
Hopefully, The Division will live up to the enormous expectations set by this video. Starting tomorrow or the day after, we can all take a look at the Open Beta.
