In The Division , there are reports of a new story mission visible on the map. Massive has already responded.
Yesterday, on January 13th, maintenance was carried out, which was supposed to bring only two bug fixes. However, some agents noticed another “innovation”: A fresh story mission is displayed on the operation map.
However, this mission cannot be started, nor is it visible to everyone. On reddit, it is suspected that an HVT, a high-value target, must be nearby for the mission icon to appear on the map. When you log out and log back in, the icon is gone:
New Mission Leads to a Clinic
The mission is called “Midtown West Clinic”. It is located in Hell’s Kitchen, in the western part of the map. According to the in-game description, there is supposed to be a “Bratva presence” there, and it is suspected that the clinic is infiltrated. The JTF is currently not present there.
Interesting: Last week, numerous hints were found in the game files about what new content update 1.6 and “Last Stand” could bring. Specifically, there was mention of a clinic and the Bratva presence. The in-game mission description was literally in the discovered files.
In the past, future activities have been “leaked” through the map: The Dragon’s Nest raid or the “Falcon Lost” raid were visible on the map in advance before the required expansions were released. However, the mission names were always incorrect: “Falcon Lost” was initially displayed as “Falcon’s Nest”.
Speculation about the Midtown West Clinic has been lively on reddit. It could be the starting mission for the “Last Stand” expansion. However, it may also just be a scrapped mission still found in the files that will never make it into the game.
What Does Massive Say About It?
The developers have commented on this already: They want to make it clear that it is not intended for this mission to be displayed. They do not want to tease anything with it.
Whether we will be able to play the mission sooner or later remains to be seen.

- Either these are relics from early drafts that are still somehow dormant in the code.
- Or a completely different faction is planned towards the Russian mafia and Massive is tapping into ideas from the planning phase.
