In The Division, more and more problems are being reported in the form of cheats, exploits, and glitches. A recent annoyance is the “Multi-Group-Glitch”.
The Division has been on the market for three weeks now. Agents are diligently roaming all corners of post-apocalyptic New York and discovering many exciting things: however, there are also finds that the developers did not intend.
The farm spot for Bullet King created quite a stir in the Division community, but many other exploits, cheats, and hacks have already become annoyances for the “decent” agents both inside and outside the Dark Zone.
A problem that has been simmering for days in forums and video portals across the internet is the “Multi-Group-Glitch”.
Too Many Agents in Missions
The “Multi-Group-Glitch” allows agents to play missions with a large number of players. While missions are intended for a group of a maximum of four players, there are reports and videos on the internet showing over 20 agents per instance. We also receive many reader contributions via email, Facebook, or in the comments to bring this phenomenon to our attention.
This glitch is particularly exploited for the challenge mode, making this mode no longer challenging at all and can be completed in a very short time. The enemies are simply overwhelmed. That’s not the point.
The Community Reacts Differently to This Glitch
While some agents find it quite amusing to rush through missions with 20 other players, most agents view this glitch with suspicion. After all, such multi-group instances are not intended by the game, and the game’s errors are being shamelessly exploited.
Interestingly, some agents report that they suddenly found themselves in such missions without their knowledge or involvement. As the YouTuber snipe1225 stated:
I don’t know how that happened, but I joined a game where there were other players who were not in my group.
When and how Ubisoft Massive will react is still unclear. However, step-by-step guides on how to easily create such scenarios are spreading extremely fast across the internet. Therefore, the developers should respond quickly. Perhaps already in a patch on Tuesday morning.
