In the upcoming MMO shooter The Division, there will be no microtransactions, meaning no cash shop.
In recent weeks, it has been a topic: How does Ubisoft finance The Division? Are they planning a cash shop? It was almost assumed. Especially after an appropriate interface was seen in a trailer.

The German website “Gamestar” has now inquired with Ubisoft and received a clear statement on the matter. Because at Ubisoft, they have been assured by the developer that there will be NO microtransactions in The Division, not even for “vanity items,” that is, cosmetic stuff.
Whether this will change in the future, like with Destiny, where such microtransactions were introduced after a year, is still uncertain. For the moment, however, it seems that this question has been clearly answered.
One can probably assume that “The Division” will be financed through game content (DLCs) or later expansions.
The 3rd-person shooter with MMO elements, Tom Clancy’s The Division, will be released on March 8 for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. For the end of this month, a closed beta is planned, although it will only last a few days.
