In the shared-world shooter The Division, we present the named high-end shotgun Medved. How do you obtain it and what is it worth?
The Medved shotgun is one of the named weapons and has been in The Division since update 1.2. This gem drops exclusively in the challenge mode of the raid “Clear Sky” – but not guaranteed, rather randomly. Since “Clear Sky” became available on Challenging with significant delay and is no easy task, many agents do not yet have the Medved in their possession.
What makes the Medved special in The Division
The Medved is based on the “SASG-12” shotguns in The Division: While it has a high rate of fire, its base damage per shot is the lowest among all shotguns. Nevertheless, it shines with a generous magazine and a high reload speed. With just one hand movement, the entire magazine is reloaded. Here are the specific stats, without mods:
Since the Medved is a “named weapon,” it always comes with fixed talents:
- Unforgiving: When you are lacking health bars, you deal more damage: 1 bar +10%, 2 bars +23.5% (Requirement: firearms: 2063, stamina: 2579). This talent is not considered outstanding. However, you will often be taking damage yourself in shotgun play, making this talent frequently active.
- Ferocious: Damage against named and elite enemies is increased by 14%. (Requirement: 2063 in all three attributes). This talent is strong – but difficult to activate. You will need a balanced build for this, which is currently not recommended.
- Destructive: You deal 18% more damage to enemy armor. This talent is always active, but only works in PvE – not against agents. Since NPCs usually have more armor than health, this talent serves you well.
A disadvantage of this weapon is the limited modification options. You can only tinker with the optics and the magazine. Especially for the latter, it is advisable to increase magazine size and weapon damage. Since it is a named weapon, no weapon skins can be applied.
Is the Medved worth it in The Division?
Youtuber Skill Up has mixed feelings about this weapon. He states it is by no means outstanding, but solid. The talents are generally strong, but not easy to activate.

He recommends trying out the Medved if you get it dropped. He cannot recommend it for the biggest challenges, but it certainly looks “damn cool” and is more than enough for some fun.
