In the MMO shooter The Division, there are new details about the update 1.2 “Conflict”.
In today’s State of The Game, the developers talked about the future of The Division: The May update will bring numerous changes, some of which were revealed today. We summarize these changes.
Major weapon balance changes will occur only after the May update
Already last week, it was stated that Massive wants to be more generous regarding loot in the future. Both in quantity and quality. This way, agents will have more opportunities to obtain various weapons in update 1.2. They can then try them out and roam through Manhattan with them.
A problem in the past was that some weapons were too easy to obtain through blueprints, which made them the “best weapons” in the game.
A comprehensive balance change to the weapons will occur only after update 1.2. The aim is not just to nerf individual weapons that currently stand out (like the SMGs or the M1A), but to adjust all weapons. Further necessary data will be collected after update 1.2.
But it’s not just weapons that will be adjusted: Armor pieces, gear sets, and mods are also set to experience changes with the May update. Specifically, “Gear Mods” will be buffed.
New gear sets, new raid and “Toughness” coming in the May update of The Division
Further information that the developers disclosed is summarized as follows:
- The update 1.2 will introduce new gear sets. These are specifically tailored to certain weapons and play styles, providing not only certain bonuses.
- The gear set Call of the Watch will be nerfed. All data available to Massive show that this set is overpowered.
- The “hit points” displayed above the stamina attribute will now be referred to as “Toughness”. This value is intended to reflect health, stamina, and armor equally. Thus, they aim to create more transparency regarding which items allow you to take more damage.

- The maximum armor value will be increased from 65% to 75%.
- The maximum number of Phoenix Credits will be doubled to 2000.
- The upcoming raid will not be called “Broken Circle” and will not require a gear score of 220. The necessary gear score will be similar to that of “Falcon Lost”.
- There will be no items with a gear score above 240. That remains the upper limit.
- In the future, it will be displayed in the Dark Zone UI whether other agents can hear you.
- Some talents will be adjusted, such as “Brutal”, “Balanced”, and “Reckless”. Additionally, a bug of the Call of the Watch set will be fixed.
No release date has been announced for the May update! Update on 17.5.2016: The Division: The May update 1.2 “Conflict” has a date, with a trailer.
