In The Division, the precision rifle M1A1 is counted among the best weapons in the game. We present a sniper rifle that many agents would be happy to have.
A reader from our community wrote to us that he received an “absolute headshot machine”. This is the rapid-firing high-end precision rifle M1A Series 1, currently one of the most sought-after weapons in The Division. We detail this weapon from the PS4 user Flapheadclone.
The M1A Series 1 – A strong headshot machine in The Division
To label a precision rifle as a “headshot machine”, it must meet two crucial criteria: it must have a high rate of fire, and it must allow precision and stability to enable multiple headshots consecutively. Such a weapon has been found by Division agent Flapheadclone, a rapid-firing M1A Series 1, which can also deal substantial damage.
According to his own statements, he received this weapon in the Dark Zone, in DZ05. The named enemy in the subway below the large extraction zone dropped it.
Here are the stats, talents, and mods of this M1A1
First, let’s take a look at the stats of this weapon. Next, we will see which talents and mods the M1A1 is equipped with.
Here are the stats of this M1A Series 1:
Here are the random talents of this weapon:
- Economical: The last round in a magazine deals 55% more damage (Requirement: 1733 firearms and electronics each).
- Brutal: Headshot damage is increased by 23.5% (Requirement: 2166 firearm).
- Malevolent: Damage against elite and named enemies is increased by 13% (always active talent).
Additionally, this weapon comes with +170% headshot damage as a bonus.
With the Brutal talent, the weapon becomes a “headshot damage machine”. Against named and elite enemies, this weapon shines even brighter. So, the damage is covered; now let’s see which modifications the user employs to boost precision and stability.
This is how the weapon is modified:
Flapheadclone uses only high-end mods for modifications. The following values are specifically increased:
- Magazine: +95% magazine size; +12.5% weapon damage
- Long Scope: +21% headshot damage; +21% optimal range
- Large Muzzle: +35% initial stability; +20.5% precision
- Long Underbarrel: +36.5% initial stability; +50.5% horizontal stability
An important criterion here is the initial stability, which allows you to keep your enemies under fire, as the crosshair remains precise. The horizontal stability prevents the weapon from pulling left or right after a shot. For more information on initial and horizontal stability in The Division, read here.
Furthermore, the weapon damage, headshot damage, and magazine size are increased with the presented mods – everything is geared towards inflicting many and powerful headshots on the enemies.
For his gear, the PS4 user relies on the Striker Gear Set, which allows him to use the unique talent “Shooter”: Each subsequent hit deals 1% more damage, with a maximum limit of 100%. For missed shots, the bonus drops by 2%. The bonus decreases by 1% with each second. For a “headshot machine,” this talent can certainly pay off.
This is how much damage the thing deals
On the shooting range in the operations base, the average headshot damage is 336,280:
The critical damage is significantly higher, with optimal hits going up to 692,640! Considering that with the M1A Series 1 you can keep the enemies under fire, and thanks to the high stability and precision, most shots land where they are supposed to, the user’s judgment seems justified: The thing is a “killer”.
