In The Division, an agent created an amusing video about the Light Machine Gun “Hungry Hog”. The special thing about it: In just a few seconds, everything important has been said.
For most agents, Light Machine Guns (LMGs) are at the bottom of their list of preferred weapons in The Division. The reasons for this are quickly stated: LMGs are simply too weak. There are many better alternatives, such as SMGs at close range and precision rifles at long distance. They also deal too little damage per shot to provide compelling arguments.
With Update 1.2, a new named LMG was introduced: Hungry Hog – This Light Machine Gun has already been introduced here. Now a user has published a rather entertaining review of this weapon.
Amusing LMG review takes only 16 seconds
The agent Destined Archon does not seem to be a fan of Light Machine Guns. The Hungry Hog could not convince him either. The named LMG looks good, but the positive properties stop there. In 16 seconds, he has said everything important about it. See for yourself:
According to the YouTuber, the weapon is not usable for eliminating strong enemies. You can at most kill rats with it. The Hungry Hog can carry a lot of ammunition; however, that doesn’t help if it takes forever to chip away the health of enemies. He illustrates this with the shown footage.
His conclusion: He cannot recommend this weapon, as LMGs are currently really bad.
With this concise assessment, Destined Archon finds support among many agents. The video is not only amusing but also hits the nail on the head accurately. Within a few hours, the video of the rather unknown YouTuber was viewed thousands of times and was mostly positively rated.
One thing is for sure: Massive must pay strong attention to LMGs in the weapon balance changes. The “Lone Wolf” set from the Conflict update failed to shine a better light on this weapon category. Without drastic changes, LMGs will continue to play no significant role in The Division, but will remain a laughing stock in YouTube videos.
