In The Division, we present a “Lexington Simulator”.
A well-rolled Barrett’s Bulletproof Vest is currently one of the most sought-after items in Ubisoft’s MMO shooter. It comes with exciting bonuses that are interesting for many builds. However, there is one problem: The armor piece is extremely rare.
If you want to farm Larae Barrett’s bulletproof vest, you need to dive into the “Lexington Event Center” mission and eliminate the Rikers leader. She has a low chance of dropping the item.
How long do you need for the vest?
The Redditor with the nice name “assiprinz” claimed that he had too much time over the holidays, which is why he decided to design a tool for this vest. With the “Lexington Simulator”, you can simulate the drop chances and see how long you would need to play for it.
This fan-made tool works as follows: Set the time in the bottom left that you generally need for a run. The standard duration is 15 minutes here. Then click on “Start Grinding”.
Now you will see after how many runs the bulletproof vest would have dropped for you and how much time you could have invested. And then it is not even guaranteed that the item has a good roll. It took me 90 runs, which at 15 minutes per run is 22.5 hours.
Additionally, you will see how many credits, Phoenix credits, and other items would have dropped during this time. The bonuses on the vest are also displayed.
By the way: The chance is supposed to be 1.02% that Larae Barrett drops the bulletproof vest.
Each person can judge for themselves about the usefulness of such a Lexington simulator. The Redditor claims that you can see how much valuable time you would waste farming, time that you could also spend doing something meaningful.
What does Massive say about the low drop chance?
In a livestream a few weeks ago, the developers stated that there are no plans to increase the drop chance for Barrett’s bulletproof vest. They understand that many agents are frustrated because the item simply will not drop for them and depends too much on luck. However, they want to have items in the game that are rare and make you immensely happy when you obtain them, even with the current loot drop.
What do you think? How many runs do you need according to the Lexington Simulator?

Even Destiny had to face scorn for excessive farming in the form of a simulator back in the day:
