Some agents criticize the “Last Stand” mode in The Division. It did not bring the desired variety.
In recent days, there has been little positive news about The Division. One glitch followed another, there were server downtimes, and interest in this shared-world shooter seems to be steadily declining. This is also confirmed by Google Trends, where you can see the interest over time. On February 28, the peak of the last 90 days was reached when “Last Stand” was released. After that, it went steeply downhill:
There are several reasons for this: Massive talked in March about their Year 2 plans, which disappointed many players. Furthermore, the “Last Stand” PvP mode failed to entice agents in droves to the post-apocalypse for weeks and months. Fresh content is longed for, which seems to be in short supply in Year 2.
Last Stand – A mode with serious problems
For weeks, Massive has been chasing numerous bugs and glitches in Last Stand, which they encounter during every maintenance. The biggest headlines were made by the Invisible Glitch, which allowed glitchers to hunt other players invisibly.
On Reddit, a user shared his opinion on this mode, which received broad approval. He states that Last Stand lost its appeal extremely quickly. The lags, connection problems, and glitches are not solely to blame for this. He sees a critical issue in the miserable balance.
Many matches tend to play out in a way that one team rolls over the other without a chance. The matches never feel balanced or intense – rather unfair. Therefore, it is even boring to be on the winning team. It’s not fun that way.
Do you still enjoy “Last Stand”?
Massive has repeatedly stated in recent weeks that they want to improve the quality of the player experience in the future – through bug fixes, balance adjustments, and “Quality of Life” improvements. Recently, Update 1.6.1 was announced. Whether this can enhance Last Stand remains to be seen.
Therefore, we ask you at this point: Are you still fully active in the “Last Stand” mode? Or has your interest waned? How would you improve this PvP mode?
