The Division can be played for free on PC for several days starting today. A test weekend is approaching.
If you’ve always wanted to take a peek into Ubisoft’s shared-world shooter but haven’t had the chance, mark this upcoming weekend in your calendar.
From December 15 to December 18, all PC players will receive free access. The complete game is available, including all previous free updates. However, the paid DLCs are probably not included.
It starts tonight at 7 PM. It ends on December 18 at 10 PM.
Once the testing phase starts, the Standard and Gold Editions will be available at 50% off in the Ubisoft Store. Your characters and the progress you make during the weekend will carry over if you purchase the game.
Information about the preload can be found on the Ubisoft site.
What is The Division anyway?
If you’re wondering what this Division is, here’s a quick summary: It’s a third-person online shooter set in a post-apocalyptic New York. A devastating pandemic has spread, chaos reigns everywhere, and nasty factions make the streets unsafe.
You are an agent of the Division and the last hope of humanity to save what can still be saved.
The Division has a comprehensive progression system. In the endgame, everything revolves around loot and optimizing your character builds. Both PvE and PvP are possible, although the PvE aspect prevails. Team up with other agents and defeat enemies together.
In the past, the shooter faced a lot of criticism for being full of bugs, exploits, and issues. In October, with Update 1.4, the player experience was overhauled. Since then, agents have been returning to The Division.
