Ubisoft apparently has plans for a movie adaptation of their MMO shooter: Starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
Ubisoft seems to be launching an offensive regarding film adaptations of their successful games. A few weeks after the release of the trailer for the Assassin’s Creed film, a film adaptation of The Division is now on the plan.
The Division Movie – Starring Jake Gyllenhaal
The setting of The Division is undoubtedly suited for an emotional and action-packed film: The post-apocalypse in New York, a deadly virus, dangerous factions, death, fear, and betrayal around every corner – films have been made from far less ingredients.

According to a report from Variety, Jake Gyllenhaal will be a star in the cast of this film. Additionally, the actor from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Southpaw, or Nightcrawler is also said to take on a producer role in the “The Division” film adaptation. Currently, Ubisoft is still looking for a writer for the story, it is said.
It will probably take a while before we can admire our agents on the big screen, as they ensure law and order in the post-apocalypse. At the moment, the official confirmation is still missing.
We are excited and will keep you updated!
