The upcoming MMO shooter The Division will not have player trading. At least, not at launch.
As reported by Gamesradar, The Division will not have player trading, even though it was once planned. According to a Massive employee speaking to the online site, “priorities on various features” are the reason for this decision. That is one of the truths of game production: Some features make it, others do not.
However, the idea that players can exchange gear and weapons among themselves is not completely dead. This is something that some value a lot, according to Massive. Maybe it will come in the future.
This is not the only feature that was announced and then scrapped. There was already a plan to allow a player to control a drone via a kind of “companion app”. The end of this idea was announced in the summer: they simply could not find a concept that was both fun and functional.
On the plus side: The Division has a pooping dog in the game. The clip is now circulating around The Division world.
