In The Division, the G36 assault rifles were apparently nerfed more than Massive communicated.
Currently, the mood in The Division’s reddit forum is boiling over. Some users noticed discrepancies with the G36 assault rifles. Other users responded, yes, it was the same for them.
With yesterday’s patch, the base damage of these assault rifles was reduced by 15%. Massive clearly announced that a nerf would occur. The agents are not happy about it, but at least Massive was transparent.
Now something has come to light that leaves users astonished. The mood is tipping into hatred and rage. Because Massive made further adjustments to the G36 – and tells no one.
Massive confirms secret nerfs to the G36
Shortly after the servers went live again and players could try out the patch’s new features, agents noticed: The recoil of the G36 feels different. The recoil is harsher.
Data miners immediately got to work and allegedly discovered the following nerfs:
- Base damage reduced by 15%.
- Optimal range reduced by 5%.
- Recoil has been increased.
- The crosshair opens up faster to maximum distance.
Are these just rumors and speculations? After all, only the first point was officially mentioned.
No – because the community developer Hamish Bode announced investigations and returned with the following message:
Just conducted some investigations in the office, and I can confirm that this is indeed the case. The data mining is accurate and we apologize for not providing the information to you.
The reactions in the comments are not surprising. “That’s not cool, guys. That’s really not cool” is still on the friendly side.
If you like crafting agent toys, it is naturally perceived as uncool to conceal some nerfs. Allegedly, the community developers, who were supposed to release the information, were not aware of it themselves. Via Twitter, Bode mentioned yesterday that there were no changes to stability:
Nevertheless, the G36 remains a strong assault rifle in The Division.
