In the shared world shooter The Division, the assault rifle G36 is currently an outstanding weapon. We will take a closer look at it.
Update: The nerf has now been implemented. Here is what the G36 can do now.
With update 1.3, new weapons were introduced, including the G36 assault rifles. However, these are currently bugged, as Massive announced before the launch of 1.3. “Bugged” in the sense that they are currently simply too strong.
This unexpected strength makes the G36 particularly interesting, as the YouTuber Arekkz Gaming notes. Therefore, the tip is: Get the weapon and have fun with it before Massive nerfs it.
What Makes the G36 in The Division Special – Before the Nerf
There are three versions of the G36 assault rifles in the game: G36, Military G36, and Enhanced G36. In the video and the following images, you can see the military version of the G36. The locations: These ARs can drop in the Dark Zone and underground or be obtained in underground containers. With underground rank 40, you can also buy them from a vendor – where you can also find them as a blueprint.
All assault rifles, including the G36, come with a bonus to enemy armor damage. In this case, it’s +23%. However, the bonus only applies against NPC armor. In PvP, you have no advantages.
The G36 has (still) an outstanding base damage, currently 14.4K. The rate of fire is 750 without mods and the magazine holds 30 rounds. Here are the specific stats: With the appropriate mods, you can increase the rate of fire to 969 and the magazine size to 60. This gives you an extremely powerful assault rifle, with a high rate of fire, a large magazine, and enormous base damage. Your enemies won’t know what hit them.
Two talents of the G36 are random, but one is always fixed:
- Focused: If no skill has a cooldown, weapon damage is increased by 14%. It’s not a bad talent, but there are certainly better alternatives. After all, in The Division, skills are often used, so this talent is rarely active. You can also re-roll this “fixed” talent.
According to Arekkz, the G36 is currently a real “beast”. It feels very good to play with it. It is well controlled in terms of stability and recoil and quickly drains the enemies’ health. Especially in PvE, the G36 excels, as it pulverizes enemy armor thanks to the bonus to armor damage.
However, Massive intends to weaken this assault rifle in the future. The base damage is simply too high. When this nerf will happen and to what extent it will affect the weapon is still pending. The YouTuber hopes that Massive carefully considers this nerf. Because right now, it’s a lot of fun to roam through The Division with the G36. It brings fresh air to the shooter – finally a powerful weapon that is not an SMG or sniper. However, if the developers weaken it too much, it will likely end up on the big pile of useless weapons.
Have you already acquired the G36?
