In The Division, some agents stock up on named weapons. Why is that?
A week ago, the ETF phase for update 1.6 and “Last Stand” took place, where representatives from the community flew to the USA along with team members from Massive to chat with the “Red Storm” studios about the future of The Division.
Everything that was shown to the “Elite Task Force” during these days is still highly confidential. Until Massive officially announces the new features, ETF members must keep silent about it.
However, one ETF member is struggling to keep his lips sealed: Just a few days ago, the YouTuber and streamer LiKe BuTTeR teased: “Guys, 1.6 and Last Stand will deliver some great PvE content.” Now he revealed how agents should prepare for 1.6.
Buy the named weapons
Just a few days ago, a user’s observation circulated in the reddit forum that LiKe BuTTeR buys an unusually high number of “Named weapons” in his live streams. In other words, he invested all his currencies in these weapons. Many agents thought to themselves: “Let him, it doesn’t have to be a hint about 1.6.”
But LiKe BuTTeR became specific: During a stream, a viewer asked him how he should prepare for the update 1.6. And the streamer replied with clear words: “Buy the named weapons!”
The question is only … why?
However, he did not reveal why players should buy these weapons. On reddit, agents speculate that the named weapons will be upgraded, that they will become rarer, or that they could completely disappear from the vendor inventories. However, the community is still struggling to find a sense in this “hint”.
Some agents are now directly starting to stock up on the named weapons. Others point out that YouTubers and streamers often give their tips on how to prepare before updates. However, these are usually “Save credits!” and “Save Phoenix credits!”, not “Buy named weapons!”
Whether you want to actively follow LiKe BuTTeR’s advice or whether you prefer to look forward to 1.6 calmly, it is up to you.
