In Tom Clancy’s The Division, agents need lockpicks to access locked areas. Is there a way to farm lockpicks efficiently?
The agents are currently waiting for the upcoming May update called “Conflict”. There isn’t much to do in The Division right now. If the MTW has already been blown up for the umpteenth time or no buddies are online to explore the Dark Zone together, players are left with the thought: “I might as well take a look around in the Open World!” After all, there are some notable details to discover.The walk through the post-apocalyptic New York will, however, be abruptly interrupted: Scattered throughout the game world, you will encounter locked doors that prevent you from accessing certain areas. Behind these doors, you usually find some items that won’t help you much in the endgame – but still, you want to know what lies behind the door.
To uncover the secrets behind the locked doors, you need lockpicks. But where do you get these door openers? And is there a trick to farm as many as possible in a short time?
How to get lockpicks in The Division
So far, there seem to be only two ways to obtain lockpicks – and both are based on a sobering principle: luck.
Here’s how to obtain lockpicks:
Random drops from enemies: Your enemies in New York sometimes drop lockpicks after you defeat them. They are displayed to you as gray markers. However, the gray markers do not necessarily mean that they are lockpicks.
Backpacks: With luck, you can also obtain lockpicks by looting backpacks. You can find these scattered throughout The Division.
If you want to efficiently hunt for lockpicks, the only advice that can be given is: Choose easy missions and kill everything that crosses your path. Keep an eye out so you don’t miss any dropped lockpicks or hidden backpacks. Unfortunately, a “farming route” with guaranteed drops is not known.
