The Division recently received a major update, Patch 1.8.2. With this patch, the first four Shield Achievements were introduced. Now, clever dataminers have released a complete list along with tasks. These 12 tasks will then have rewards for The Division 2.
On June 14, Patch 1.8.2 went live with some new features. In addition to new legendary missions and some balance changes, the Shields are finally included. It was already known that there are a total of twelve of them, four with the patch, and the remaining ones are expected to be released on a monthly basis.
What are the Shields? These new achievements are designed to provide various smaller rewards for agents, both in The Division 1 and in Part 2.
Here are the current Shields and their tasks:
- Shepard: Unlock the Operations Center
- Hazard: Clear 25 landmarks in the Dark Zone
- DeadEye: Complete all high-value targets in a week
- Avenger: Kill 10 named bosses in the Light Zone, Dark Zone, and the West Side Piers

Dataminers find details about the other 8 Shields
Shortly after, diligent dataminers (via reddit) stepped in and provided a complete list of the upcoming Shields along with their associated tasks. It is important to note that this is only the current state of the files. There is no guarantee that these will be final in The Division, but it is considered very likely.
Here are the tasks for the upcoming Shields that have been uncovered:
- Sacred (July): Complete ten phases, reach level ten, and kill ten Hunters in the Underground
- Phoenix (August): Extract five items, survive five hours, and kill five Hunters in Survival
- Talon (September): Reach a commendation value of over 3000
- Rebel (October): Reach wave 15 in Resistance
- Fang (November): Complete all missions at legendary difficulty
- Prime (December): Collect three full Classified sets
- Marshal (January): Obtain all exotic weapons and gear
- Chieftain (February): Achieve the highest possible optimized Gear Score (290)
Here you will find an album with the associated patches.
In addition to the patches, you can expect special containers and audio logs for The Division 1. If you are diligent, rewards in The Division 2 will be waiting for you at the end.

Some Shields are retroactive
Shields are partially retroactive. If you have already discovered the Operations Base, the Shepard Shield should already be in your possession. This will also be the case for upcoming Shields.
If you already have a commendation value over 3000, you will not have any effort in September. Tasks like “Kill ten Hunters in the Underground” will not be retroactive, as the counter for these needs to be activated first.
