Next week, an event in the Dark Zone is coming up in The Division! Agents can gather more loot.
The State of the Game aired on October 12. In it, the developers discussed the PTS for update 1.8 and upcoming events in the live game.
New Supply Drop Event in The Division
Just a few weeks ago, Massive announced that some events would be held in October. The Global Event “Heist” has already concluded, and now the next event is on the way. This time it’s a “Weekend Event”.
This will take place in the Dark Zone and runs from October 20 to October 22. The event is divided into two parts:
- Initially, supply drops will contain additional rewards.
- Subsequently, supply drops will appear more frequently in the Dark Zone.
In supply drops, a crate with loot is dropped somewhere in the Dark Zone, which is protected by enemies. Agents who grab the loot first will get it. All others will go home empty-handed.
This means that during the event you have the chance to get more loot or get loot faster through supply drops.
By the way, a few weeks ago, Massive mentioned that an event will be held for Halloween. The format and start date for this are still unknown.
In today’s livestream, developers from Reflections Studios were also invited, who are currently working on the next Global Events 3 and 4. They revealed that Global Events are generally well received in the community. The goal is to change the gameplay experience and the way one plays The Division. They should also be fun. This seems to work quite well.
The two upcoming events aim to bring more explosions (Global Event 3) and to bring the cover shooter aspect back to the forefront (Global Event 4).

- The tactician set is bringing back the turret bonus.
- So far, only console players who have received an invitation to the PTS 1.7 can participate in the console PTS. New invitations are yet to be sent out. They apologize for the delay. They expect that you will receive the emails with the keys in the coming hours, overnight from Thursday to Friday.
