In the upcoming MMO shooter The Division a YouTuber has found something interesting.
It was only visible for a tiny moment, but the well-known Division YouTuber “MarcoStyle” paid close attention. In a gameplay video, from a Q&A at the beginning of November, he discovered the dreaded word “Store” (it is at 0:55 in the video) directly in the interface of The Division.
This is still far from confirmed, but it seems to be an indication that the dreaded “microtransactions” will be featured in the game, also known as a “cash shop”.
In doing so, a player pays money for “smaller conveniences”, whether they are cosmetics, new skins, or XP bonuses. More than this short clip in X-Files style is not known at the moment.
In the current climate of the gaming industry, such a cash shop would probably not surprise anyone, but it would likely upset some.
